We feel that it is our moral obligation to love and make elderly people feel that they are important part of our society. Orchid has a housing facility for elderly with disabilities. Dr. Sapkota is the head of Psychiatry Department at BPKHIS, Dharan. He completed his in xxxx from BPKHIS, Dharan. Further, he did a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry from xxxxxxx University in the United States. Dr. Sapkota is also the general secretary of Alzheimer and Related Dementia Society, Nepal.
Yamuna founded Orchid Care in 2010 with one patient. Since then the facility has grown to an area of three ropanis in Basundhara Kathmandu accommodating 41 patients right now. Orchid is Nepal’s first private center that caters to the needs of patients needing 24/7 care. Educated in management from Tribhuban University, Yamuna brings an experience of more than eight years of working to support the people with critical care.
She is passionate about helping people and loves the idea of providing world-class care to the elderly. Yamuna loves working with people that are in need of reliable care 24/7. She dreams of setting up an elderly care center that preserves Nepal’s age-old tradition of caring for the elderly and providing the love they deserve.
Bima has been working at Orchid since 2014. She completed her schooling from Jomsom, Mustang and studied nursing in BPKHIS, Dharan. Bima is responsible for mobilizing nurses, ensuring timely medicine and housekeeping duties. She is at the heart of day-to-day activities at Orchid.
Susmita is a passionate physiotherapist who is dedicated and passionate about improving the life of people at Orchid. She completed her studies in Physiotherapy from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India. Susmita loves serving elderly people and serves as a physiotherapist to improve muscle strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination balance and gait pattern. Moreover, she also helps improving mental health of the people
Sachin has been working at Orchid since the very beginning. He is a key member of our team. Sachin ensures that people under our care have time for play, extra activities and fun moments. Even people with dementia remember his name at our facility. This speaks a lot about his work, dedication and devotion to the people we have at Orchid.
Asmika oversees the entire operations at Orchid, and she started as a manager in 2013. She is a young, dynamic leader who aspires to be a pioneer in elderly care industry in Nepal. Currently pursuing master’s degree in sociology in Tribhuban University, Asmika also looks at ways to better improve the life of elderly and those in need of intensive care 24/7.
